Yan Jun is an important representative of the late Ming Tai Zhou School. Hisethical thoughts not only have had a significant impact on history, but also had apositive meaning to our modern society. This thesis analyzes the content of his ethicalthoughts, demonstrates the great value of his ethical thoughts and reveals itscontemporary enlightenment from social, political, economic, culture in that epochand the major thinkers.This thesis begins from the following aspect:The second tchapter describes the life of Yan Jun and the background of hisethical thoughts. Firstly introduces his life story and then analyzes the political,economic, and cultural background of his ethical thoughts so as to lay the foundationto better understand his ethical thoughts.The third chapter analyzes the Justice and human lust of his ethical thoughts.“abandoning lust is not Ti Ren” is the important content of Justice and human lust ofhis ethical thoughts. Although Yan Jun thinks that “abandoning lust” is not the way toexperience “Ren”, he doesn’t advocate the people to letch. So he put forward the ideaof “act without transgressing” on the basis of the “free-wheeling”. This idea plays animportant role in whether we can correctly deal with the relationship between therighteousness and the benefit or not.The fourth chapter mainly discusses the unique skills of self-cultivation of YanJun. meditation is the core of Yan Jun’s self-cultivation, it is also called the “sevendays’ retreat”. Yan Jun inherits the theory of original goodness of human nature ofMencius, propose the cultivation of the straight mind, it is called “assuredbenevolence cultivation”. He think that the assured should achieve is “pure natural, iscalled the way”.The fifth chapter mainly evaluates Yan Jun’s ethical thoughts. This chaptersummarizes the main characteristics of Yan Jun’s ethical thoughts, then through thecomprehensive judgement and assessment of Yan Jun’s ethical thoughts, summarizethe contribution and importance of Yan Jun’s ethical thoughts in the history and itsmodern sense.
