The Reasearch Of Mazu Belief Spread And Evolvement In Ryukyu

The ryukyu kingdom (now Okinawa) is located in the Pacific island countries of southeast China in the history. Chinese ancient history biography--Sui book recorded ancient ryukyu, which become the earliest literature about the ryukyu.1372AD, the ryukyu formally established friendly diplomatic relationship with Ming, which lasted for nearly five hundred years. During this period, the Chinese culture is also introduced to ryukyu by frequent personnel exchanges and trade between the two countries. Among them, mazu belief is an example of the Chinese culture influence the ryukyu. mazu belief expanded the influence of mazu belief which made the commom spiritual wealth between the two countries and become a moving story.This paper state mazu belief propagation and evolution in history.Between the two countries scholars (especially the Okinawa) achieved fruitful results around ryukyu’s history and culture, especially in the aspect of Chinese culture influence on ryukyu culture, wide area, multi-angle research. But in the process of study of ryukyu culture, scholars emphasized on the Chinese culture influence, and then they ignored the general regulation of cultural transmission, which namely the spread of culture in the process of the subject (culture disseminator China) impact to object (culture absorb, ryukyu) at the same time.That is to say, when the foreign culture entered the ryukyu, they ignored ryukyu local cultural reconstruction to foreign culture. Because past research is shortage of the advance, it provides to continuly dig deeper into space, which makes this article has more academic and practical value.
