Xu Zhimo is a romantic person, and his works are also romantic. In the earlytwentieth Century in China, many people rely on rational and science heavily. They thinkthat the full development of capitalism can bring people to the road of happiness. Somesensitive ones realize what the rational and science contain, such as the alienation ofpeople. Xu Zhimo is one of them, and he thinks that people should not be overwhelmedby the materialism, and people should return to human nature, liberating from thecapitalism. In eighteenth Century, France is the Enlightenment era, and most peoplebelieve rational and science in Europe, Rousseau is an outstanding French Enlightenmentthinkers, he belongs to the age of enlightenment, and however, he is also a traitor,because his rational is also romantic. Rousseau advocates personal emotion and belittlesthe false rational, then he becomes the father of romanticism, creating a romanticbeginning, and many people like it. Both Xu Zhimo and Rousseau have the romantictrend of thought, the romantic pursuits seem to be inopportune or inappropriate.But thisis their spiritual home, their works also inevitably reflect the romantic tendency.This paper is divided into three parts, the first part is the same comparison of XuZhimo’s and Rousseau‘s romantic literature. The second part introduces the differencesbetween Xu Zhimo’s and Rousseau‘s romantic literature. The third part is the study ofthe influence factors of Xu Zhimo’s and Rousseau’s romantic literature, which is usedwith the parallel study, the main research method, and the influence study, in order tostudy Xu Zhimo and Rousseau deeply.
