Region is like a mirror,which will be a reflection of the different regions of different civilizations, theformation of ingenuity geographical landscape. Local culture of the region is a kind ofgradually formed a characteristic of the brand logo through the long development of itsspecial geographical environment and historical and cultural influence. Urban landscapesculpture can be used not only as a symbol of national culture, but also as a microcosmof cultural products. Sculpture reflects a nation’s history, customs and traditions,represents a period of history people’s unlimited pursuit of innovation and showsaesthetic values and attitudes of people in that period.Harbin is a multi-cultural and historic city. Its urban sculptures and world famousbuildings describe the history of each sculpture through the construction and centuriesof vicissitudes. Harbin is blended with exotic and oriental culture and form its uniquestyle, which has been called “Chinese Baroque”,“Oriental Moscow” and “Paris of theOrient”. Harbin is a winter city, so there are many aspects of regional climate,geography and other issues in Harbin. There are also different unique advantages, that is,Harbin ice and snow culture. Harbin’s ice and snow sculptures have become a symbolof the region, making the region’s urban sculpture culture richer. The geographical andcultural characteristics of Harbin decide that when we make process of the urbansculpture construction, the city’s own unique resources of history, culture and landscapeshould be taken into consideration. This paper discusses the importance of regionalculture to the urban sculpture in Harbin through the analysis of the current situation andproblems of urban sculpture, in order to explore how to solve the problems of urbansculpture, so that Harbin can be harmonized with its humanities, the surroundingenvironment and the unique historical and cultural integration, thereby enhancing the city’s brand attributes, inheriting the image of the city’s civilization, recording thecity’s human history, highlighting the city’s local culture, beautifying the city and thelife, and meeting the aesthetic needs of the residents.
