The Inheritance Of Traditional Adult Ceremony In Morden Society

This article introduces Yao Town’s "Opening Lock" custom, analyzes the "Opening Lock" ceremony in the town of objects with time and space, by introducing and describing the space of Yao Town’s location, history and culture and’s social life, economic conditions, the folk custom culture of Yao Town. Having introduced related background, the author will bring the conductor and the recipients of "Opening Lock" ceremony into the analysis dimensions, in order to make the basic description and the concrete analysis about the performance by main body of folk inheritance in the context f folklore.In order to have further perspective of Yao Town’s "Opening Lock" ceremony, and folk heritage of folk custom for the subject, the author pays more attention to the folk performance of the recipients and observes the mind of recipients in "Opening Lock" ceremony. Methods adopted contains involved observation and questionnaire survey. The author investigated seven adults’case, on the condition that the author do not distract the recipients and without influencing the ceremony. The author participated in and observed the ceremony, and then dynamically described the performance of folk inheritance, finally semi-structured interview recipients after the ceremony. To further understand the religious, and to grasp the ceremony subjectively, the author has just handed out62questionnaires to the adults’group,60questionnaires successfully recalled.On the basis of full questionnaire and participant observation of the case. The author synthetically analyzed the results of field survey, at such aspects as the inheritance to the ceremony, the kinship structure to the ceremony and the change of the ceremony. Unlike previous investigation, the author let people do their own analysis, giving the analysis of the initiative to the people. Let people to explain their own world.Having completed a series of analysis of the ceremony, the author found that the "Opening Lock" ceremony is different from other known adult ceremony."Opening Lock" ceremony does not belong to labeled model of adult ceremony, teaching model of adult ceremony, test model of adult ceremony, or symbolic model of adult ceremony."Opening Lock" ceremony is a kind of praying rite, belonging to the late-starting types of rite. Around the three themes of witness, pray and wish these, the whole ceremony expresses the expectations and deeply bless from elders to recipients."Opening Lock" ceremony developed in the change from attaching importance to raising children to educate them, from integration to separation, from the simple to the grand. In the process of the changing of "Opening Lock" ceremony, with the rapid development of our economy and changing attitudes of people determined the round lock ceremony more in changes of the implements level. The levels of "Opening Lock" ceremony is relatively stable, but due to the increasing social division of labor, better education of the younger generation led to the change of recipients community, executives from elders turning into a professional clergy, which makes the levels of "Opening Lock" ceremony more grand and complex on the basis of its stability.From the results of author’s field investigation, the inheritance situation of "Opening Lock" ceremony is still optimistic. As the Han nationality of our country’s existing adult ceremony,"Opening Lock" ceremony is a relatively special type of rite, which should be paid enough attention and research.
