Miyazaki Hayao is a world-famous animation master, his works occupies apivotal position in the animation movies’ history of Japan and the world. He is alegend in animation industry. Miyazaki Hayao’s animation movies have entertainedkings and paupers, in his fictional fantasy world, he refined the screen, simplelanguage, and beautiful music to show the complex and delicate relationship betweenthe human and nature, man and society. Comparison with the theory of tragedy ofAristotle we can find its animation movies with a typical tragic. The tragic is not thetraditional sense, but endow to the themes, characters, the performance of practicesand so on.At first, Miyazaki Hayao’s animation movies involve in a tragic theme of quest,change and conflict. These themes contain profound culture connotation. Secondly,Miyazaki Hayao shapes many vivid, distinctive tragic figure in his animation moviessuch as exploratory heroes, goodness ordinary people and intricate witches. Thesefigures are not tragic figures in the traditional sense, but they contain a very strongtragic, development of personality and character of its own destiny makes MiyazakiHayao’s animation movies are full of tragedy breath. Lastly, through the atmosphere,plot and analyze end of Miyazaki Hayao’s animation movies, we can find that they arefull of strong tragic meaning.Miyazaki Hayao’s animation movies reflect many social issues in real lifeexhaustive and stereoscopically, but also present the truth, the goodness and thebeauty skillfully and artistic. The tragedy may not surprise people like ancient Greektragedy, but also watch our hearts and alert modern people with a warm power.
