Analysis The Application And Development Of Bronze Ware Pattern In Shoushan Stone Carving

China is an ancient civilization with a history over thousands of years and profound traditional culture. As one of the most important representatives of Chinese traditional art, bronzes art with its high artistic value has enjoyed a lofty status in history. It is not only a representative symbol for special historical significance, but also embodies various forms of aesthetic principles, exerting a profound influence on modern art. Therefore, an overview of the history of the decorative patterns of ancient bronze wares in Shoushan Stone carving (agalmatolite sculpture) art will have equally significant influence and implication.Shoushan Stone carving has been evolving for more than1500years and developed various carving skills, including circular engravure, button carving, surface carving, antique carving, seal engraving and so on. Most of its patterns and techniques are closely related to the art of ancient bronze ware. Shoushan Stone Carving has integrated the patterns of ancient bronze ware into its own modeling, techniques, and themes etc.. Through our classification, the patterns of ancient bronzes ware can be divided into the pattern of magic animals, the pattern of realistic animals, geometric patterns and etc.. On the basis of this classification, a research is conducted on the application of these patterns in Shoushan Stone Carving. The adoption and development of the ancient bronze ware patterns in Shoushan Stone Carving, in combination with techniques favored by the modern aesthetic eyes, such as beautifying exaggeration, abstraction and social realism, has created vibrant works of art of Shoushan Stone carving and gradually made Shoushan Stone carving as a unique artistic genre and culture.Based on predecessors’ research, the thesis analyzes the ancient bronze ware patterns and discusses the influence and significance of bronze ware art on the development of Shoushan Stone Carving. Meanwhile, through the analysis of the inheritance and creative application of the ancient bronze ware patterns on Shoushan Stone Carving, it demonstrates that the modern Shoushan Stone Carving is not only able to absorb and promote the essence of ancient arts, but also reflects the contemporary characteristics of our time, which facilitates the inheritance of our traditional culture and its promotion to the stage of world arts.
