Soul-Touching And Nature-Simplicity

Vocal performance is a unique art which reflects in that it must faithfully reproduce works of art to the audiences or listeners in the form of singing by means of performance. When vocal performer is in the interpretation of vocal works, it is necessary to study its original intention carefully, explore the meaning of works, and try to figure out works’ emotion to rich and perfect it. As a second creation, a successful vocal performance will endow great vitality to works and make it enduring.This thesis takes "Father" as the topic from my personal concert repertoire which is divided into four parts, namely the introduction, the style characteristics of "Father", the singing process of "Father" and conclusions. The Introduction discusses the significance of the topic, topic status and researching methods, analyzes and summarizes its researching feasibility of collected data. The first and second part take the song "Father" as an example to make a specific analysis and investigation of songwriters’ creation background, lyrics ideological content and period features, musical form structure and harmonic analysis, singing breathing, singing language and the whole language processing etc.. The connotation and meanings of the work is deeply dug out through my own feelings and emotional experience. The second creation of the work has been achieved by macroscopic holding of the song’s style characteristics and microscopic regulation of singing skills to accurate interpretation and demonstration of the work. The conclusion part clarifies the significance of this study in the field of vocal performance.
