This essay is a report of a technical interpretation task during the Sugar Technology Training Program for Jamaica at Guangxi International Business Vocational College, which analyses specific problems during this interpreting and tries to come up with better ways to solve them.In recent years, with the deepening of international S&T cooperation in China, the demand for technical interpreting is surging. Therefore, it is of high guidance value to apply translation theory with real interpreting. In this essay, the author first give a grief introduction of the characteristics of technical interpreting and analyze this practice with Catford’s Translation Shifts. In the last place, the author summarize her experiences and offer some suggestions for other interpreters. |
