Inscriptions on precipices is a form of calligraphy art characteristic, also is the carrier of the Chinese nation traditional culture inheritance. Yulin redstone inscriptions on precipices recorded the process of development of human civilization and the wisdom of working people. It has the rich cultural connotation,artistic value, the human valuable historical and cultural heritage. It is also the important tourism resources which known as "one of yulin eight sights".From the time, the redstone inscriptions on precipices go throughout the Ming and Qing dynasty even the republic of China. From the chirography style, it includes the seal character, regular script, running script and cursive script. From the style, it can be divided into the inscription, acknowledged, eulogium, couplets, portrait, etc. From the content point of view, it is involved in Yulin since the Ming and Qing generations of political, military, social life, cultural education and religious culture, etc. To highlight redstone gorge of cliff stone carvings conveys massiness culture and the unique artistic charm, the article states mainly from the stone carving culture connotation and carved stone calligraphy art to marxist aesthetics. From the aesthetic perspective, the redstone gorge of cliff stone carvings played an extremely important role in the process from raw nature into humanized nature and give people a great aesthetic pleasure. From the Angle of calligraphy,redstone inscriptions on precipices includesit includes the seal character, regular script, running script and cursive script, which reflects a high level of writing style and age.
