Though rising in the general background of combination of three religions——Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism, a number of the supernatural novels in Ming Dynasty has a closest relationship with Taoism. Academia still lack of understanding to this. Consider "Journey to the west", for example, Scholars, such as Liu Cunren, Li Angang、Guo Jian, after Ming and Qing Dynasty critics, have repeatedly underscored the gist of "Journey to the west" is to advocate the Taoist theory for inner elixir. The characterization, arrangement of plots, description of details and chapter headings, especially words in "Journey to the west", are great affected by Taoism. Academia turn a blind eye to the relationship between "Journey to the west" and Taoism because of authorities, such as Hu Shi, Lu Xun and Zheng Zhenduo, their thesis has been mind-set by many scholar. After researching, I’ve found that not just "Journey to the west", a fair amount of supernatural novels are based on the viewpoint of Taoism in Ming Dynasty. There has the affirmation of Confucianism and Buddhism in the general background of combination of three religions, but Taoism govern them. The percentage of Confucianism and Buddhism was much less than Taoism in texts. What’s more, Taoism ancient books and records are the most familiar and the most widely-used.Taoism has a great effect on these supernatural novels in Ming Dynasty. In view of the length of this article, it may be prone to generalize about the relationship between them for a exhaustive review. Therefore, this article has taken supernatural novels which came from Taoism ancient books and records or the influenced ones for the research, through researches in both details and general to dig the verse in supernatural novels in Ming Dynasty. By discussing the impact of creation style revealing the relationship between them to get a better understanding of thoughts and purports of supernatural novels in Ming Dynasty.This article mainly divides into three chapters, the first outlines development general situation of supernatural novels in Ming Dynasty and reveals its eclectic based on the viewpoint of Taoism for the other two in the name of "combination of three religions" thereby providing external references for research on supernatural novels which came from Taoism ancient books and records or the influenced ones. Chapter Two probes into verses in supernatural novels in Ming Dynasty. The perspective from the text carried on the system to the verse came from Taoism ancient books and records, and detailed discusses Taoism connotation in it. Chapter Three focus on Taoism ancient books and records. Three typical Taoism ancient books and records, which has effect on verse in supernatural novels in Ming Dynasty, were analyzed emphatically, to explore the permeation of Taoism and the impact of creation style of supernatural novels in Ming Dynasty.
