With the deepening of China’s reform and opening to the outside world, and its progressive perfection of socialist legal system, our nation is accelerating the process of legal construction. So it is necessary to learn and borrow experiences of the outstanding and comparatively perfect laws and regulations of other countries. And legal translation is evidently an efficient ways to achieve this object. Therefore, the importance of legal translation cannot be emphasized more. In order to improve study ability and get familiar with the new legal translation field, the thesis summarizes what has been learned in the process of translation of the Property Act(relationship) 1984 Victoria AU.This report can be divided into six chapters. Chapter one is about the brief introduction of this translation project. Chapter two is about the brief description of the translation process, including some principles of legal translation. Chapter three analyses the linguistic characteristics of Property(Relationships) Act 1984, mainly in terms and syntax. While the most important part of this report is chapter four, which is the case analysis. It mainly discusses the problems on the vocabulary level and syntactic level and provides the solution of them. The last is about the summary of this translation practice, which reviews the difficulties appeared in the process of translation In the end, the thesis prospected the further learning and life.
