| Jia Yi is an outstanding political commentator, thinker and litterateur in the early years of the Western Han Dynasty. He was born in hangao emperor seven years (200 BC), dies in Hanwen emperor twelve years (168 BC), Luoyang, Henan province. In the polity, Jia Yi advocates emperor should implement benevolent rule and control kingdom’s development. Jia Yi advocate the vision of "ritual for the rule of the country, and Ephraim is complementary", "people-based" and so on. In the economy, Jia Yi advocate that country should monopolize mintage, prioritizing agriculture and restrain business. Jia Yi also put forward a series of important propositions in national relation and education field. He devoted himself to reform. His political ideal is building a harmonious society which social stability and the country prosperous common people are peaceful. He make better livelihood for the people the supreme goal of his behaviour. He is dead, but Jia Yi’s political life has influenced almost every field of our country. However, from ancient times until today, different people have different views about Jia Yi’s success and failure, the merits and demerits, gain and loss. This article is not explore good or bad about Jia Yi, but will strive to discuss all his life based on Marxist historical materialist theory. Which helps understanding and gasping the early years of the Western Han Dynasty. |
