The Appraisal Verbs In Modern Chinese

The article takes the appraisal verbs in Modern Chinese as the main research object.All the appraisal verbs have a semantic characteristic which contains four means:[+active][+two way][+subjective appraisal][+appraisal].These verbs reflect the speaker’s subjective attitude of known information.Taking advantage of previous study methods,and search through Chinese language facts,after study on semantic,organize a appraisal systems and the frame of appraisal systems,pragmatic,in order to find out common feature and individual feature of appraisal verbs.Firstly,define the appraisal verbs as the research object,referring to the usage of Chinese Verbs Dictionary,then give the definition frame based on the semantic and form.Combined with the actual corpus,analyzed the appraisal verbs in common feature and individual feature.Secondly,analyzed the appraisal verbs based on appraisal systems.The appraisal systems is used in the discourse and translation in theory,this article embarks from the appraisal systems,investigate the relationship between the appraisal systems and appraisal verbs.Thirdly,according to the appraisal systems,give the frame of appraisal systems on appraisal verbs,through the system,analysis the frame of appraisal systems,discuss the subject,object,sentence patterns on appraisal verbs.Then,describe the passage style distribution and the characteristics of pragmatics of appraisal verbs.Because the passage style,appraisal verbs always used in writtenlanguage,and often make different structures that appeared in the title.Based on objects and subjects,In pragmatics,appraisal verbs are restricted by the politeness principle.Finally,based on the analysis of corpus to sort out,found a few questions about appraisal verbs.Including about reference of appraisal verbs,modified by interactive adverbs and degree adverbs.In this paper,a few question to make a preliminary description and explanation.
