This report introduces the whole process of the author’s reflective research from source text analysis to translation practice, and then back to the reflection on the major translation problems she encountered. On the basis of the features of non-literary writings translation, especially the informative text, such as exposition and descriptive writings, the author translates the source text under the guidance of relative theories and methods she learned, studies and summaries her own translation practice and finishes this research report. Aiming at three major problems of run-on sentences, cultural barriers and four-character structures she encountered in translation, the author provides three countermeasures by literature searching, parallel texts reading and application of the theory the author learned before, in order to find translation methods for relevant texts and improve the translation competence of the author and the quality of the target text.
