The embodied dimension in Contemporary Western philosophy opens up a new field of epistemology. In recent years, the research of embodied cognition has achieved fruitful results. Starting from this problem, in this paper, the thought resources in the pre-Qin period will be brought into the discussion of embodiment, especially of em-bodied knowing from the perspective of the epistemology in a broad sense. In the pre-Qin period, the body was considered as a "whole person" from the perspective of ontology. In this sense, the body is the ontological premise of em-bodied knowing. In the process of em-bodied knowing as knowing the nature, knowing the virtue and knowing the practice, the body and knowing become an unity from the epistemological view, and moreover, become the unity of "being" and "knowing" in the metaphysical dimension. And in this dimension, "knowledge" was transformed to "wisdom".The contents of the thesis include the following parts:The introduction part presents the possibility to construct a dialogue between Chinese philosophy and Western philosophy on the topic of em-bodied knowing. The summary of related research is also in this part, and the topic of the thesis starts by this way. The first chapter makes a survey on the body, which is the precondition of em-bodied knowing, in pre-Qin period. The contexts of Yi, Mengzi, and Zhuangzi are discussed to illustrate the view of the body in pre-Qin period. The second chapter focuses on the discussion of em-bodied knowing in pre-Qin period and shows the unity of the body and knowing in the process of em-bodied knowing. Chapter three relates the discussion of em-bodied knowing to the epistemology in a broad sense, thus to present its significance in terms of epistemology-metaphysics, and to open a new field for the research of em-bodied knowing. The last part is the conclusion.
