The Ming and Qing Dynasty was an important period during the development of the Wuxi local society. It was also the golden age in the development of the Xishan Qin’s lineage. The lineage moved to Wuxi in the year of Chunyou in Southern Song Dynasty. Then they lived and grew there. The lineage developed by virtue of the great achievement in the imperial competitive examination during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It became a famous lineage in the imperial examination and politics from a farming-studying and civilian lineage. For hundreds of years, the Qin’s lineage kept active in the Wuxi local society. They endeavored in building relationships with other famous family and made a complicated friendship and marriage net. The Qin’s lineage also took an active part in public affairs in Wuxi at the same time. They played an important role in keeping the stability of the society,changing the local ethos, cultivating talents, inheriting academic, creating and saving local cultures. All of these effectively promoted the development of the Wuxi local society in Ming and Qing Dynasty.
