A Comparative Study Of Philosophy Of Kagyu And Tentai Sect

Kagyu sect of Tibetan Buddhism and Chinese Buddhism Tentai Sect will be treated as their ancestor Nagarjuna and teachings are reflected in a significant Madhyamaka thought. However, the outlook for the understanding and development of specific thoughts and Idea derived from their ideology, and they all have their different factions.This paper analyzes the Kagyu and Tentai in "Madhyamaka", "tathagatagarbha", "Harmony", "Samathavipa Syana" aspect of the differences and similarities. Kagyu is considered on the basis of the Pure Minded, emphasizing the obvious secret combination that methodology "off side", Tentai formed the theory of "San Di Yuan Rong" after absoubing the three wisdoms from Mahaprajbaparamitacastra. Dharmata Mahamudra is the expression of the Buddha Nature theory in Kagyu, is combined of tathagatagarbha and saddharmapunddrikasutra; "Xing Ju Shan E" is the expression of the Buddha Nature theory in Tentai,is basis on "Yi Nian San Qian" of "Zhi Yi".The Epiphany and the Gradually is deemed to be equal level in Kagyu, but the Epiphany is more important than the Gradually in Tentai. Kagyu formed the theory of no ego and physical quality and spiritual quality, At the same time, Tentai formed the great samadhiand vipa’syana.
