Foreign language learning anxiety is the complex emotion of self-perceptions, beliefs, feelings, and behaviors related to classroom language learning arising from the uniquene ss of language learning process.Higher vocational students’ English entrance scores are generally low. The students are not very interested in English learnin g. Students generally feel confused, discomfort, nervous and bored mood disorders in English classroom learning. So it is necessary to focus on higher vocational students’ English classroom learning anxiety.This thesis is on the basis of Horwitz and Cope’s foreign language learning anxiety theory, adopts the survey method of English classroom anxiety scale, personal background questionnaire and interview, investigates 240 students of six classes in grade one in Xing’ an League Health School, and uses SPSS(19.0) statistical analysis software for survey data analysis. This paper firstly investigates on two aspects. The first aspect, investigate the overall situation of English classroom learning anxiety and anxiety level in four dimensions of the first grade students in Xing’ an League health school. The second aspect, investigate individual differences of students’ English classroom learning anxiety. According to the mean and standard deviation of English classroom anxiety scale, the subjects are divided into high, medium, low anxiety group, and a total sample of 15 students are interviewed from the high, medium, low anxiety group, to find out the reasons of stud ents’ English classroom learning anxiety. Then on the basis of survey conclusion, the author proposes countermeasures to relieve the students’ English classroom learning anxiety.This survey finds that during English classroom learning the different degrees of English classroom learning anxiety really exist in the first grade students in Xing’ an League health school and the mean of overall anxiety is above the mod erate. The students have the higher degree of anxiety in communication apprehension and test anxiety, and fear of negative evaluation is slightly high, and the lowest level is other anxiety. No significant source difference exists in students’ English classroom learning anxiety, but significant differences lie in gender and learning attitude. Comb ined with the scale survey and interview analysis, the following four main reasons for the first grade students’ English classroom learning anxiety in Xing’ an League health school are: classroom activities, test factors, classroom e rror correction, teaching method. The author puts forward the countermeasures of anxiety: organize cooperative learning to reduce communication apprehension; adjust the state of body and mind to alleviate test anxiety; adopt appropriate classroom error correction to alleviate the fear of negative evaluation; adopt appropriate teaching method to reduce other anxiety.The data provided by this survey will help English teachers in Xing’ an League Health School to be aware of the existence of the students’ English classroom learning anxiety and the influence on English classroom learning. The survey finds out the reasons of students’ English classroom learning anxiety, also helps first-year students in Xing’ an League Health School to take active and effective measures to overcome the anxiety and improve their English learning.
