The Creation Epic Miluotuo is the spiritual canon of BunuYao; it carries the nation’s worship of the goddess. Their beliefsystem regards Miluotuo as the core supported by dozens of gods andgoddesses. All of them have clear boundaries between generations. The great mother Miluotuo, the goddess of war and Totem goddessMonkey mother are three important goddesses of Miluotuo. Theywere born at different times in Bunu Yao’s history and were therepresentatives of women. Miluotuo is the omniscient andomnipotent goddess, the creator of the world, and leader of all thegods. She represents the Bunu Yao matriarchal era of women whenthey were dominant in society. Thor girl was born as a God who wasa heroic war goddess. She saved the Bunu Yao in the nation’smost difficult period. She was the representative ofpatriarchy’s women in the early age. In the tribal wars that frequentlyoccurred in the patriarchal period, women were not so important, butthey still had a higher social status. The monkey mother is the mosttragic female characters in the entire epic as she was described as anugly female monkey and married men who was a BunuYao’s ancestor. She gave birth to children for him but was abandonedin the crisis. However, after a series of painful events themonkey mother was deified by her children, thus becoming the BunuYao’s last goddess. The monkey mother represents the migrationperiod for women. In the Bunu Yao collective migrationperiod, women became the patriarchal vassal. At the end of the eraof immigration, Bunu Yao entered into Cheng river basin where they finished the collective migration and remodeling of thegoddess belief. At the same time, the social status of women wasrising. This paper attempts to use the folklore, anthropological theoriesand research methods to study goddess worship in the epic. I willanalyze the inheritance, formation and significance of the epic. Fromits creation, we will trace the origin of the goddess belief crisisand reconstruction, revealing the historical trajectory of change forthe Bunu Yao women. This essay is divided into four chapters. The first chapter "goddess of the hymn" examines theformation, inheritance and significance of Miluotuo. It wascreated in the formation period of Bunu Yao which was thecrystallization of the goddess cultural belief, the spiritual pillar ofBunu. The second chapter "the birth of the goddess" is about theorigin of the goddess belief which analyzes the matriarchal rule of thegoddess. The earliest goddess was born in the matriarchal society. The female reproductive worship is the origin and return of theancient goddess. This epic shows strong awareness other right.Miluotuo is depicted as half man half God, who ruled the world andwhose authority should not be violated. She took many measures toprotect their matriarchal rule. In order to control the marriage of herchildren, she made the "Lamentations of the sun family". Withthe rise of budding and phallic worship, she used a male castrationfear" to suppress men.The third chapter,"the loss of the goddess" discusses how hertime collapsed and the goddess belief crisis. At the end of itstime, mother’s authority was often violated. Finally, even the sonKahn betrayed her. She imprisoned him but Kahn achieved salvationon his own. It reflects the struggles between the women and men inthe matriarchal society stage. Bunu Yao transformed from amatriarchal society to a patriarchal society affected by malereproductive worship, the development of productive force-s and thewar. Miluotuo’s death marked the end of matriarchy. Thetransformation of social lineage brought about the Bunu Yao’sgoddess belief crisis, indicated by the loss of the goddess and the rise of fathers. The fourth chapter the return of the goddess discusses goddessof war" and how totem shelled in the remodeling of the goddessbelief. The goddess belief has strong vitality which can be seen inthe adjustment to the crisis. Thor girl was the goddess of war whosaved her own nation in the heroic age. She was born in the frequentwars age. It is result of the goddess belief and worship ofThor "marriage." She connects the two, eliminating belief threatbetween the new god worship and the old one. An abandoned motherwas held on the altar, which was the effective means to reshapethe goddess belief and enhance the status of women. The writer willimply the rites of passage to analyze the totem goddess. In her time, there was no one born to be a god. Only after baptism can theybecome a goddess. During the threshold of the rites of passage,Monkey mother was not a human and dehumanized as a monkey, shelost all shepherd before and was abandoned to the wild place. In therites of return, on-key mother was found by her children and receivedmother dignity. Finally she was deified as a goddess. The monkeymother experienced three stages of transition etiquette isolationmarginal regression from a monkey counterattack to the goddess.
