In ptolemaic Egypt, the priestly class is an important part of the group, and plays an important role in the development of the society. People’s physical, funeral to marry, is inseparable from the priest. The priests of the service object to the king, from the plebeian inhabitants. They are the egyptians the ruler of the spiritual world, but also the participants of the secular world. In order to better ruled Egypt, Kings of Ptolemy wooed the priestly class. In the ptolemaic period, the priest’s acquisition, function, type, position, were the same with the pharaoh period. On one hand Ptolemy ruler limited the development of the priestly class, and consistently gave them new privileges at the same time. The priest gave the Kings of Ptolemy divinity, ruling Egypt for the legitimate cloak for them; at the same time, the supreme ruler continually built temple, and give a lot of property to the temple, so the temple had a strong economic strength. Because of the temple, the priests, except the gods also inheritance and development of the science and culture of Egypt, and the top knew astronomy, bottom know geography, they are social class of intellectuals of ancient Egypt, playing an important role on the development of Egyptian civilization.
