Mathematics Anxiety, a subject-specific form of anxiety, is one of the most important non-intellectual factors influencing mathematics performance. It is a significant subject that how to alleviate students’ mathematics anxiety in math field. From the positive psychology perspective, this paper explores the possibility of the intervention of mathematics anxiety through psychological capital, which provides a new way for alleviating mathematics anxiety.This study adopted questionnaire investigations. To investigate the relationship on the junior middle school students’ psychological capital, mathematics anxiety and mathematics performance,1039students were chosen from three schools in Tianmen, Hubei province. The conclusions of the research are as follows:(1) The overall level of the junior middle school students’psychological capital higher than the midpoint level; the overall level of the junior middle school students’ mathematics anxiety lower than the midpoint level.(2) There is no significant difference in psychological capital between the boys and girls; the mathematics anxiety of girl students is significantly higher than boy students’.(3) The psychological capital of grade three students in junior middle school is significantly lower than other grade students’. The mathematics anxiety of grade three students in junior middle school is significantly higher than other grade students’.(4) Only-child or not has no significant influence on psychological capital and mathematics anxiety.(5) The psychological capital of the students come from cities is significantly lower than those students come from countries. There is no significant difference in mathematics anxiety between the students come from cities and the students come from countries.(6) There exists a significant negative correlation between psychological capital and mathematics anxiety; there exists a significant positive correlation between psychological capital and mathematics performance; there exists a significant negative correlation between the mathematics anxiety and mathematics performance.(7) Psychological capital and mathematics anxiety have significant predict effect on mathematics performance.(8) Mathematics anxiety plays an intermediating role between psychological capital and mathematics performance.
