This thesis is to interpret the book of "WAHT THE BUDDHA TAUGHT" Walpola Rahula, as well as his theory, and combined Rahula practice to discuss its modern sense of self-purification. He advocated that the Buddha is not in favor of idolatry. Everyone, regardless of origin are equal, It is likely to understand the truth to reach the ultimate happiness of calm. The confusion is that the obstacles but is not a crime. The Buddhism classic is a way of pointing to the truth than the truth itself, which can not be persistent. Rational belief is what Rahula think faith. Dukkha are with these meanings:first. Suffering, life phenomena are summarized in eight areas. Second, Impermanence is suffering, whether joy, are not eternal. Third, Bitter that cause raw state. Nirvana is not completely without the vitality of a dead silence, it is an objective fact, which is the absolute truth. He pointed out that "Anatta" means there is no constancy, God or I. Anatta was referring to the five aggregates composed of a collection of at any other one thing. He proposed that through meditation on the body, read the breathing, meditation on the acts of daily life, personal thoughts, emotions meditation, meditation for intelligence, so as to achieve the reach of ideological purification. Finally, he believes that the quality of two aspects of the most comprehensive people have the wisdom and compassion. And asked the eight methods to solve the troubles in life, as well as the Buddhist moral code of ethics. The article structure is as follows:The paper inspects the kernel of Buddhist theory, the unique Buddhist theory and practice of individual purification and the modern meaning Buddhism, through interpretation of the book What the Buddha Taught by Walpola RahulaThe first chapter introduces the Walpola Rahula the life and writings of the background, as well as the book value.The second chapter examines the theoretical core of What the Buddha Taught-the Four Noble Truths, including the Dukkha, the cessation of Dukkha, Transcendent absolute truth-Nirvana. Four aspects of the method to solve the troubles of life.Chapter Ⅲ analyzes the true meaning of Anatta to get objective self-understanding. Self is created by "God" and "I". Self is a concept to refer to a combination of several elements. And to discuss the most intractable problems-who should bear the cycle of karma.Chapter Ⅳ is on individual self-improvement, purification of Buddhism, common training method and the significance of human social life.
