Analysis Of Chinese Military Theme Documentary Creation

Documentary focusing on military theme has always played an important role in the development of Chinese documentary history. Not only because of its unique style and appreciation of the beauty makes it so special among all theme of documentary, but also because of its duty of propagating the nation and army. However, recently military theme documentary is facing new challenge because of the prosperity of documentary and new taste of the audience, which requires military theme documentary to break traditional creation restraints, to concerns more human life, to add more story and artistry, to enhance effectively and express real emotion by diverse means, and to avoid propagating and heighten soldier image intentionally. My graduation work <<In Army>>, an military theme documentary, tells a story how the inner world of a common soldier, born after1990and serviced in military police, changes. This article concludes the shooting experience in the creation process, aims to discuss the main characters and existing flaws of military theme documentary, and to perfect the way to create military theme documentary work.
