As an artist who pays emphasis on artistic spirit, Mark Rothko as the same as all theother artists holds the quality of true temperament and the great attitude towards art.American Abstract Expressionism Art becomes famous during20thcentury. Itstimulates the public to welcome a new era belonging to the new art form. At the sametime, people say goodbye to the "old" sense of art. Rothko’s abstract art brings thepublic a kind of whole new visual aesthetic way.His pursuit for art emotionalexpression reflects the subjective initiative embodied in his art works.And the art workmakes visual aesthetic appreciation experience and the attention to its inner spirit ofpainting being possible.First, the paper attempts to elaborate the creation background of the AmericanAbstract Expressionism Art and its related theory.Then combines with Mark Rothko’slife experience, the impact of his artistic creation thought and emotion. So we cananalyze Mark Rothko’s spiritual roots of painting performance and his painting creationof "tragedy". Third, combining analysis of the Rothko’s works in different periods ofhis painting style, expression of evolution, aesthetic and emotional perception, fullypresents abstract art spirit of Rothko’s Color-Field Painting and his integration ofsubjective initiative and painting art form, and shows us the relationship between thevisual aesthetics and the non-representational Color-Field Painting. Finally, discussingthe relationship between the new visual experience and the asethetic consciousnesswhich comes from Rothok·s Color field painting under the influence of Rothok’spainting art.
