The course of "The New Trends of Foreign Language Teaching" aimed for English teachers and students who will engage in English teaching or other language teaching in the future. This was a small class that there were more than a dozen of graduate and doctoral students and university English teachers participating in the course. The course was in exquisite talk style exploring English language teaching, language education and education with research way of thinking.The course of "The New Trends of Foreign Language Teaching" meets the need of students from different learning backgrounds with the extremely rich content, the most advanced thinking and profound analysis. The thesis interprets education from23different perspectives which is related to a plurality of forefront hot spots on language teaching and education and makes a new interpretation on education which has strong realistic meanings, such as narrative is to talk about education with narrative language or telling a story; education is to teach students to interpret the world instead of giving the interpretation to students; when we evaluate a class, we do not evaluate how much knowledge there is in the class, but what the quality of classroom life is; we should advance understanding of education through pedagogical space; the only aim of education is to teach you how to behave yourself; how to think about the issue of education in China today through exegetical tradition; education is socialization instead of information obtaining; we should appreciate different cultures and diversity things; what is the influence of Dewey’s pragmatism education and western linguistic concepts on China etc. The thesis holds in high esteem of "The Analects of Confucius","The Book of Songs","Chuang-tzu","The Book of Rites" and other Chinese classics which have great influence on modern education. Chinese classics have always been very open system that a large amount of texts are a kind of showing and interpretations are made by readers. Everyone can have his understanding to interpret the classics. People’s understanding of the world is changing everyday, so each person can have a different interpretation everyday. Different interpretation is the core of education and the essence of education is to teach students to interpret the world. The conclusion of the thesis is "all education is to teach you how to behave yourself".
