From the perspective of composer himself, the first chapter of this paper describes his life, creation and overall style of music, which lead to the creation background of Sonata in E Minorfor Flute and Piano. The second chapter is the main part of this paper. In view of the differentsituations in each movement, each section is separately based on the fairy tale and muscialstructure. Then it explores the performance techniques of the work from different angles, such asrhythm, intonation, sound, timbre, emotional coloring etc. In the final chapter, it first analysestwo playing versions of two best known composers--James Galway and Emmanuel Pahud. Thenit gives a comparision between their playing processing mode. At last, it put forward my ownopinion by practical analysis. Based on my own practical experience, this paper gives a furtherresearch of the work on the performance skills. Therefore, I hope that this paper can give a fullunderstanding and provide theoretical help for composers and find more reasonal performancetechniques.
