A Study On The Shaping Of Lu Xun’s Image In The Kuomintang-Occupied Areas During The Anti-Japanese War

Lu Xun could not participate in The Anti Japanese War personally, but his works had a rich and complex spiritual resources which got an extensive extension in the period of Anti Japanese War. "The image of Lu Xun" was an important spiritual symbol constructed by intellectuals in the Kuomintang-occupied areas when the national crisis appeared, and its logic basis was the crisis of ethnic identity and the seek of the image of intellectuals paradigm. The significance of "The image of Lu Xun" was to expose reality, participate in reality and respond to the reality. Therefore,Lu Xun was judged by people with the perspective of nation.The first chapter focuses on discussing the causes of the generation of Lu Xun’s image.The Kuomintang-occupied areas was immersed in the atmosphere of resistance to Japan,so it was natural that Lu Xun who was recommended as the representative of the nation.Compared with the previous situation,the Anti-Japanese War made a big difference.In order to fight against or adapt to change,the people especially the intellectuals were urged to find a spiritual symbol.Obviously,Lu Xun was the best candidate.The second chapter mainly discusses the generated path of "The image of Lu Xun". There are many ways of shaping Lu Xun’s public image,such as through holding the Lu Xun memorial meetings,the publishing of "Lu Xun complete works".Except that,the intellectuals,as an individual,spread Lu Xun’s spirit consciously by writing.At the anniversary meetings,the arrangement of meeting,the content of the speech,the reaction of the participants and so on,which made "Lu Xun" to be "Lu Xun’s image".As the spreading of "Lu Xun’s complete works",the meaning of "Lu Xun’s complete works" was to be told by people.which also shaping the image of Lu Xun.The intellectuals inherited Lu Xun’s spirit,also in shaping the image of Lu Xun.The images of Lu Xun shaped at Kuomintang-occupied areas,were different from other areas,which reflect in types and rich connotation of Lu Xun’s image.In the Anti-Japanese war period, the "national soul" image of Lu Xun was most known. The meaning of "national soul" became more and more rich,through the description of the fighting spirits and shaping warrior character. Another of Lu Xun’s alternative image was created by the right-wing intellectuals, which aimed at against "national soul". At the same time,the people around Lu Xun tried to make Lu Xun to be an average man. All in all,through the positive and negative voice,namely "study of Lu Xun "and" batch of Lu Xun "," Lu Xun’s image " became more and more rich and deep.
