Study On The Consciousness Of Korean Women Writers

With Chinese economic reform appeared many Korean Chinese women writers who have integrated their unique feminism into their works, accepted by the readers and aroused the sympathy of readers. Korean Chinese women writers’creation is not only a new challenge to the creation of male chauvinism, but also has formed a new socio-cultural system which can reflect women’s rights and happiness.This thesis investigates sexual awareness described in novels by Korean Chinese women writers after Chinese economic reform to reflect women’s status and value in society at that time. After Chinese economic reform, Korean Chinese women writers focused on love and marriage as their theme to describe protagonist’s experiences in daily life. This thesis studies sexual awareness and its expressing mode in Korean Chinese women writers’novels. The following methodology is applied to the study.First, a classified methodology. After Chinese economic reform, the works by Korean Chinese women writers are divided into three ages,1980’s,1990’s, and 2000’s. The thesis studies and classified the sexual awareness described by Korean Chinese women writers based on the theme and content of the works, and writer’s intention.Second, feminist criticism and socio-historical criticism. Two methods are applied to analyze female self-awareness and language, mind and action described in the works.To sum up, since Chinese economic reform, Korean Chinese women writers’sexual awareness transformed more profoundly from a good wife and caring mother, who is absolutely obedient to family, to a person who are being conscious of the change of the times, recognizing a sense of crisis, and struggling to pursue real self in the new era. The transformation of sexual awareness can be analyzed that women sexual awareness has met with the development of society and change of period, when women have realized unfair social, historical and cultural situations and require changing the status of their own in male-centered society.Korean Chinese women writers in the 1980s contributed a lot to the development of literature in the new period, and their works in the 1990s brought amazing developments in quantity and quality as well. In the 21st century, it has become a power that can lead Korean Chinese literacy world. The study on women writers’ specific vision and sensitive females is not only a necessity to a further and more profound discussion of Korean Chinese women literature, but also is a devotion to the development of Korean Chinese literature.
