A Discussion On "Survival" And "Ecological" In Farley Mowat’s Collection Of Short Stories Named The Snow Walker

Farley Mowat(1921-2014) is a famous Canadian Ecologist, and "The Most Internationally Recognized" Canadian writer as well. He has more than 40 works translated into 52 languages and sold about 18 million copies in 60 countries. His "Ecological Literature Tetra logy"——A Whale for the Killing(1972), Never Cry Wolf(1963), People of the Deer(1952), Sea of Slaughter’(1984), had been introduced in China by the Beiyue Literature and Art Publishing House in the theme of " The Series of Man and Nature" in 1998, which had a tremendous impact in China and all around the world. Since then the ecological literature and research words on animals sprung like the mushrooms. Although the ecological literature works and research is very hot all over the world, the study in Mowat is still in his "Ecological Literature Tetra logy" in China after that date. The paper focus on another short story collections——The Snow Walker from Farley Mowat, which has not been introduced in China. On one hand, it will fill the gaps of the Mowat study at home, on the other hand, the paper will discuss how The Snow Worker enrich the theme of "Survival" of Canada national characteristics of literary with the ecological aesthetic connotation under the background of the perfection of ecological literature in 21 century.
