| Words in dialect is one of the important sources which broadens vocabularies in mandarin. And with the development of the society, words in dialect also change constantly. Since the first edition in 1978, Modern Chinese Dictionary has already travelled a journey for more than thirty years, as well as been revised for five times.As a prescritive dictionary to promote Mandarin and Chinese standardization,the Modern Chinese Dictionary has incorporated some common dialiet words and meanings.Six editions of Modern Chinese Dictionary.The paper chooses the dialect words of Modern Chinese Dictionary(six editions) as the research object and collects al the dialect words in the Modern Chinese Dictionary with marks <æ–¹>.First of all,the author does the static research on the number,meaning and find the existing problems of Modern Chinese Dictionary collecting dialect words.The paper is structured as follows.Chapter one(introduction): the purpose and significance of this study will be prese nted by introducing the current research of dialect words in the Modern Chinese Dict ionary, and elaborating the research methodology and the source corpus.Chapter Two: the disciplines and standards of recording dialect words will be discuss ed. on the basis of synthesizing the previous research and various versions of Modern Chinese Dictionary, the criteria will be generalized as generality principle,compleme ntariness principle and stability principle.Chapter Three: the variation in the quantity of recording dialect words will be ana lyzed by comparing six versions of Modern Chinese Dictionary with its close version chronologically, and generalizing the added, deleted and maintained words.Chapter Four: The development and changes in interpretation and paraphrasing of dialect words will be presented by sequentially comparing and analyzing the additio n, reduction and improvement of those words in the six versions. It shows that which part of the word meanings has been improved most, and those interpretations have be come more scientific and precise after revision.Chapter Five: the syllabic numbers and morphological structures added in those six versions will be analyzed, indicating that disyllables constitute most, and the num ber of compound words largely outnumbers simple words. Besides, compound word occupy most followed by attached formation, reduplicative formation in combining words in which attributive structure and verb-object construction numbers most.Chapter Six: the suggestions about compiling the Modern Chinese Dictionary will be put forward as to make full use of the newest study results, and corpus and geograp hical location of dialect words... |
