A Study Of New Ideology Of Mind By He Lin

Influenced by the doom of Chinese Nation and Chinese Culture in the 1930 s, He Lin created New Ideology of Mind and became an initiator of early New Confucian in its early stage. He Lin’s New Ideology of Mind is the combination of Lu Wang’s Ideology and the Western New Hegelian, embodied both Confucianism and Western ideology. One of the characteristics of New Ideology of Mind is to overcome the difference between Chinese and Western culture and combine them together.New Ideology of Mind contains four aspects of theoretic elements. First of all I will introduce Confucianism and its three ways of development. Then I will introduce He Lin’s idealism from the two aspects that he believed. He Lin emphasizes that Idea is the start point of universe, as well as Idea is an absolute ontology and subject of everything. He said “Without idea nothing exit”.Then I will illustrate the idea that knowledge and action are one from three aspects. Last but not least, I will discuss intuition theory on methodology level.The special characteristic of New Ideology of Mind is both the cause of formation and conceptual meaning are new. Moreover, it’s the outcome of culture combination between east and west. He Lin’s idea played a significant role in understanding the development of New Confucian, treating the difference between tradition and modern development as well as the conflict between Western and Chinese,and propagating Chinese culture and spirit. More important is it for the reconstruction of Chinese philosophy and the future development has the vital significance.
