A Deep Exploration On The Public Issues Of Zhang Yihe And Intellectuals

Zhang Yihe is the daughter of Zhang Bojun’s, who is a famous member of the right wing in China. She not only experienced a unique life of heaven, hell and earth, but also has a profound literary cultivation. After retirement, she got rid of the limitations of her professional expertise and put her unique life experiences and expertise into the broader social context, diverting her attention from personal cultural assets to public social issues and entering into the public domain. From previous studies we know, the problems discussed in her works are more sensitive, coupled with the short time of her works’ advent, Zhang Yihe’s creation has not been deeply and systematically studied.In this paper, it seems that Zhang Yihe wrote about her personal memories in her works,but in fact all she discussed are important issues in the public domain. This paper interprets Zhang Yihe’s prose and novels systematically from an intellectual perspective, so as to excavate and sort out the public issues she intended to discuss in her writings about her personal memories and further to explore the social and ideological significance of her works.In the "postmodern" age when public intellectuals have almost disappeared, by virtue of her capability of literary writing, Zhang Yihe overcame the restrictions of her identity as a professional literary researcher, entered into the public domain and became an intellectual,providing a reference for the reconstruction of public intellectuals of modern society. We can also say that Zhang Yihe and her works provide a typical case of contemporary intellectuals "Publicity" reconstruction. First, Zhang Yihe not immersed in the personal grudges, she called on the spirits of freedom and independence of the modern intellectuals by shaping the image of the right-wing intellectuals. She put herself in the public intellectuals’ shoes and endeavored to take care of humanity in that dark age, trying to lead people to think over the issue of intellectuals. Second, she criticized the decline of traditional culture through the narrative of past events of eight actors. From the actor to the opera art, and then to the traditional culture, Zhang Yihe put her deep thinking on social issues into the narrative of past events the actors, and criticized the behavior of destruction of culture and humanity. Finally,based on her ten-year jail true life, Zhang Yihe told the story of the crimes of women prisoners, and directly faces the sexual problems, which were all about ridiculous marriages,sex impulses, and weird homosexuality, criticized sexual ignorance caused by lack of sex knowledge, analyzed the complexity of human nature and society through the narrative of the group of miserable women, and discussed the tension relationship between eros and civilization.In summary, based on her personal experience, Zhang Yihe connected the society, the era with the personal lives of ordinary people. Everything she wrote in her works, no matter it was the right wing image that she shaped, or the past events of eight actors, or the severe criticism of the decline of traditional culture, or the deep thoughts on sexual problems that were implied by the stories of those women prisoners, was the result of her releasing her feelings, memories, experiences, etc. into the public domain, let her creative breakthrough for inner monologue into the public domain, which makes her works closely linked to society and retain universality.
