The development of information technology history shows that computer not only could be a searching tool, but also could be seem as a system with human intelligence. However, computer has only been applied as a tool for simple work such as documents edition, calculation and data classification. The computer of next generation is anticipated by individuals that it will designed and produced with human emotion, which indicates that it can analyze but not only save the masterpieces in aesthetics aspect. When it comes to the researching and exploring of geography appearance in ancient poetry, GIS techniques has often been seem as a vital significance element. In this topic, the origin and development process of GIS techniques are introduced here in the aspect of software engineering. Meanwhile, some example of situation in ancient poetry has been risen to prove the GIS technique is available in the specific item. Then, the probable contribution of GIS simulation and will achieve in the field of making knowledge and teaching process have been discussed. Last but not least, the geographic morphology in the Chinese ancient poetry ‘The Stork Tower’ had been analysis by means of Kriging interpolation algorithm in the GIS software. The analysis now is based on the 2D and 3D geographic restored map.By the way,the practice GIS simulation has shown that the result is valuable to historian to prove the authenticity of the situation described the poetry author. There is no denying that, the combintion between ancient poetry and GIS techniques is in the budding stage all over the world. The masterpieces in ancient China is full of culture deposits and existing in a complicated background. The method of exploring and exhibiting the abundant literature content is the evolution direction of this topic.
