The historiography and literature in Tang Dynasty played an important part in the history of themselves and served as a link between past and future. Especially in the early stage Tang Dynasty, the historiography and literature made great contribution to the boom of them across the all Tang Dynasty. So it’s of great significance to study the historiography and literature in the early stage Tang Dynasty, and this is what the article talks about. The relationship between the historiography and literature as well as the influence of the historiography on the development of literature is also included in this article.This article is made up of an introduction and a text which is divided into three chapters. In the first chapter, the development of historiography in the early stage Tang Dynasty is sketched out. It mainly elaborates the state of its development, the cause and the characteristics of the eight history books. Not only the establishment of history compiling institution but also the perfection of the history compiling system and the achievement of the amendment to the historical books in the early stage Tang Dynasty are the reflection of the development of the historiography. It thrived in many ways. There are mainly three aspects. Firstly, the need for the strong sense of political participation including the civil administration, that is, the imitation of the its experience, changing the sense of home into all the civil members. Secondly, it is necessary for them to set out new system, mainly on successful examples. Finally, the governors were satisfied with their achievement psychologically.The eight history books in the early stage Tang Dynasty is based on the books before the Tang Dynasty, which are not mainly concerned with literariness but the choices of historical materials and the patterns of writing.Chapter II concerns literariness of the eight history books within Tang Dynasty and the view of literature formed in the early stage of Tang Dynasty.Literariness of the eight history books includes two aspects which are literary views showed in the eight books and their literariness. Historians in the early stage of Tang Dynasty illustrated the meaning of literary,social function,the mechanism and factors of success,history,the ideal form of literature and its access in details. The literariness of eight history books in Tang Dynasty has obvious characteristics embodied in attaching importance in literature and setting specialized argumentativeness literature and works, collecting a great deal of literature,and portray-characters literature. Literary views formed in the early stage of Tang Dynasty includes pursuing political indoctrination function of literature, objecting extravagant style of writing, holding in esteem the elegance and pureness, pursuing "affection" and advocating "decoration",looking upon literature of different district in the view of taking its strengths and getting rid of its shortages, advocating the form and content equally.Chapter III concerns their affection of literary view formed in the early stage to the literary creation including the influence on poetry writing and legend. The influence on poetry writing is mainly embodied in turning to pay attention on important social events and history events or characters instead of focus on slutty and extravagant court life,formed a strong awareness of historical poetry and rise and fall consciousness. The eight history books of Tang Dynasty based on the novels, deep rooted and interacted between history books and novels. The legend of Tang Dynasty is a interacted product of literature in early Tang Dynasty and literature and is a kind of literature style combined by historical thought and literary thought, so the legend has the historical works characteristics.
