A Study Of The Funeral Ceremony Music Of Zhuang’s Shigong Religion Of Tongwan Town

The funeral ceremony music of Zhuang’s Shigong religion in Tongwan Town, which was formed in the daily life of the people over a long period of time, has its own rich historical accumulation. It has been influenced by the integration of various factors including the history, region and folklore of Zhuang of Tongwan Town.The funeral ceremony is an important life etiquette to Zhuang in Tongwan town, we can see the importance of ritual music in the funeral ceremony. And we can see the thought and belief of the Zhuang people of Tongwan from the view of the culture of funeral ceremony music.This thesis investigates the case of the funeral ceremony music of Shigong religion in Tongwan Town by the track record, probing into the analysis of their religious belief, ritual behavior and music ontology, so as to analyze and understand the cultural characteristics, functions and value of the funeral music.According to the theory of the method of ethnomusicology, the author interviewes three teams of Zhuang’s Shigong, Bureau of Culture of Wuxuan County and Bureau of Culture of Laibin and the representative teams of Zhuang’s Shigong in Laibin.Through the way of comparative study, we know that because of the historical reasons like closed environment, Tongwan town keep a integral folk art culture, it has the research value.This paper studies the Zhuang’s Shigong funeral music in Tongwan town from five chapters. The first chapter studies religion of Shigong in the whole region of Guangxi Zhuang as a starting point, describes the origin and development of religion of Shigong, combination of Confucianism, Buddhism, Taoism.Then it analyzes the religion of Shigong from three aspects, including the definition, the function and the classification. The second chapter describes the culture overview of Tongwan town.Then it analyzes the folk customs and beliefs of Tongwan town, records status quo of the team of Zhuang’s Shigong, discusses the general sciences ZhangKuan village inheritance way and content, and the sciences ZhangKuan Village transmission spectrum. Third chapter records ZhangKuan Village Zhuang’s Shigong funeral ceremony records the tong wan town, music and lyrics of Shigong funeral ceremony about description, discusses the symbolic meaning of Zhuang’s Shigong funeral ceremony, the Zhuang’s Shigong statues, shrines, costume, multiplier, just wait, dance steps, division of labor are classified summary and record the explanation. The fourth chapter is the funeral ceremony music morphological analysis the Zhuang’s Shigong. Sciences by gong tune of the author divided into narrative and lyrical, Confucius, classify the gong tune to the notation and analysis of points, Confucius callback mode tonality, melody, rhythm and tempo, and analyzes the two types, Confucius of similarities and differences. The fifth chapter is the analysis of the Zhuang’s Shigong funeral ceremony music culture, by analyzing the relations among the subject, object and intermediary within the funeral ceremony, combining the Zhuang’s Shigong funeral ceremony music,with the Zhuang ethnic, social, emotional three aspects, and therefore to know the function and value of this music.
