"Qing" is an important category in Chinese classical aesthetics. It was formed and established in the Wei Jin Southern and Northern Dynasties. However Taoism and Confucianism in the spring and autumn period had the basic characteristics of “Qing”. Along with the evolution and development of the times, the aesthetic implications of "Qing" not only generally become the worldly ideal and the aesthetic ideal of ancient literati, but also become the value selection of ancient literature and arts in china. This paper firstly explains the thoughts of "Qing" in Taoism, Confucianism, Zen thought and metaphysics, and briefly summarizes the meaning of “Qing” in different philosophy. And then, this paper analyzes the connotations of “Qing” in main literary theoretical criticism and art theoretical criticism. So we can see the aesthetic implications of "Qing" in literary theory, poetic, ci-poetic, music theory, calligraphy theory and painting theory are different, but the same thing is that it can be used as spirit and the value was reflected in creation and appreciation of literature and art. Certainly, literati paintings are a kind of special aesthetic form. They combine with poem and calligraphy, and emphasize on the expression of literati painters’ mind. So the aesthetic implications of "Qing" were brought out abundantly in literati paintings. In order to better understand and grasp the aesthetic implications of "Qing" in literati paintings, the author explores literati paintings comprehensively and deeply. According to interpreting the different historical period of literati painting and combining with the theory of painting, the author explains the internal relation between the theme, subject matter and painting language, organizational structure. Then this paper reveals that the aesthetic implications of "Qing" in literati paintings include not only the literati painters’ moral quality and elegant spirit but also the transcendence of limited objects and the exploration of Taoism. Therefore the aesthetic implications of "Qing" in literati paintings usually become a kind of philosophy, poetry or unusual verve that makes us get more spiritual enjoyment and the meaning of life. At the end of the article also discusses how to understand and implement the aesthetic implications of "Qing" in literati paintings. Thus, the author hopes giving appreciators and creators some references and inspirations.
