Since from the Meiji Restoration, by accepting the advanced experience from western countries, Japan has changed from a backward agricultural country into a developed industrial one. Not to speak the aspects of political system, economic system, science and technology, the lifestyle is also influenced by it. The style of Japanese diet has changed a lot through accepting the western style diet. Now, we can see the western style food from both the restaurant and ordinary family.The author is based on the interesting of Japanese diet and attempts to translate the Chapter Two of Japanese Culture Encyclopedia of Life which published by Supergrass Study Press in 1983. This paper tries to make more people know and understand the evolution of Japanese diet since modern times. The translation practice is one of the obvious features include more words with Japanese culture, in the diet. Through the cultural translation theory, the author hopes contains a Japanese culture factors in the structure of text language the translation practice in cultural translation as the theoretical basis, in the process of translation from the perspective of cultural bearing word study, the analysis in this article the culture factor of word translation strategy.The essence of Japanese food can summarize that it combines the traditional with the modern, respects for nature and integrates east and west. The author learns plenty of experience and skills about Japanese-Chinese translation during the study. It improves the translation knowledge of author’s. At the same time, the research has its own limitations. This study tries to make more people know about the diet of Japanese modern life, and provides more materials for China and Japan to promote cultural exchange.
