National Vocal Music Transcriptions Of Wang Zhixin

Wang Zhixin is a famous Chinese composer, conductor, vocal educator. His works are full of regional, national and scientific characteristics about a wide range of themes. Folk music transcriptions are creative songs based on the traditional folk, but joined with aesthetic elements, philosophical elements and multi-angle modern elements. Its appearance conforms to the trend of the times, and attracts people’s attention. Wang Zhixin’s folk song transcriptions are not only the creation of a diversified form, but also the originality of the melodic patterns. From the basic to the main melody, his works demonstrate a unique creative approach and his creative skills. In order to meet the performance and shape the characters in the songs, during his long term practice of folk transcription, Wang Zhixin combines the folk music melody patterns and the special melody of the characters in the songs. His works have been landmarks in Chinese folk history. Each piece is both a continuation and a development of folk songs. With noble sentiments, yet simple form and melody, his folk songs highlight the healthy outlook on life and positive values, which contributes the moral core and the development of folk songs.In this paper, Wang Zhixin folk song transcriptions are studied from the melody and the singing feature. A full analysis is taken to study the melody, rhythm and accompaniment features of Wang Zhixin folk song transcriptions. The method of giving examples, making comparison and analysis of argumentation will be taken to reveal his melody structures. By studying the tone quality, spelling of words, pattern of accent based on the comparison of pieces, we get the conclusion of the concert feature of his folk songs. This will not only contribute to clarify the composition features of Chinese folk song transcriptions from the macro view, but also analyze the essential characteristics of transcriptions from the micro perspective, so as to establish the academic system and a complete theory of Chinese folk songs.
