Highlighting the traditional skills of one city’s value of it’s history and culture, and it’s inheriting and developing are linked to the improving of the soft power of a city.Xianshan Band is a famous architectural school in Chinese history, and the sentence “Something which was built by hand, but it seems like made of the God ”, which is a superb craftsmanship of the Xiangshan band master’s construction technique in all ages.As a comprehensive non-material cultural heritage in China, Xiangshan traditional architecture has both materials and culture’s attribute. Not only does it satisfy people’s spiritual and cultural needs, and provide public cultural service space,but also display the permanent cultural connotation and spirit. Recently years, the Xiangshan craftsmanship’s overall advantage has been weaker and weaker, and the protection of that traditional skill were also facing the inheritance crisis,besides,the industrial structure need been adjusted. Therefore, the research on the industrial development is not only a kind of means to carry forward the excellent traditional culture, but also it is benefit to promote the development of traditional craft industry..By interviewing enterprise, investigating and reading pertinent literature, this text generalizes and summarizes the history and character about the development of Xiangshan Band Craftsmanship, and analysis Xiangshan band craftsmanship’s protection and it’s development status and problems in Suzhou. This text forecast the developing trend of Xiangshan band craftsmanship after the analysis about the external environment and their own condition. On the basic of protecting and Inheriting Xiangshan band craftsmanship, putting forward six developmental strategies, which including brand building, scaling, value drive, talent cultivation and dominant driving, industry platform supporting, go-global strategy,and making a clear developing key point of Xiangshan band about the future.
