Translation Report Of The Multi-Cultures Of Chinese Northwestern Ethnic Minorities And Western Development Drive( Part 2, Section 3 Of The Chapter One & Section 1 Of Chapter Two)

The Translation Report is based on the excerpt from professor Zhou Weizhou’s work The Multi-cultures of China’s Northwestern Ethnic Minorities and Western Development Drive. I share the task of the second part of Section 3, Chapter1 and Section 1, Chapter Ⅱ.Taking Multi-cultures of China’s Northwestern ethnic minorities as a target to research, the book has discussed Intensively on the development and change of China’s Northwestern ethnic minorities,as well as its transformation and reconstruction to the multi-cultures of modern type by introducing the cultures’ history. There is no English version of this book could be found in circulation. After discussion with team members of this translating program, we have reached consensus in selections of translation strategies, translation methods, and techniques used in the translation report. The main body of this report contains five parts: illustration are made on why it is this text that has been taken as exercise target by briefing the characteristics of source Chinese text; Then it is introduction on preparation works before translating; Further attention and concentration are put on the third and fourth part to demonstrate and exemplify how the translator adopts proper translating strategies, methods and techniques in translating process in the form of case analysis; A conclusion is finally made to share the translator’s gain and the aspects needed to be improved for the sake of better translating works in the coming time.
