In the trend of digital production, traditional hand-drawn animation and its production withdraw gradually from the mainstream. Digital animation, such as 3D(three dimensional) and 4D animations, provides people a whole new and great visual experience, while loses its charms of hand drawing. In 2D animation, to fill a lined form with simplified colors, as a standardized hand-drawing form, has lost its features of human intentionality and free-style, as well as the rich visual textures left by brushstrokes on different painting materials. Hence, people prefer to name the certain style with more free hand-drawing traces as hand-drawn style in order to distinguish it from the simplified form.Hand-drawn animation absorbs the visual presentation of fine art, and shows its unique artistic fascination with diversified audio-visual language of emotion expression.Nonetheless, hand-drawn animation varies in visual performance and production methods. What’s more, the typically successful works always have unique production methods, and most of them have no defined set of methods to follow and mass-produce. In this paper through the creation of short films, the author combs and summarizes the production methods of digital stimulation of hand-drawn animation, explores the feasibility and advantages of digital means in the production of hand-drawn style animation, and hopes to provide new choices and reference for the hand-drawn animation production.
