The Cartesian method for proving the existence of god is not new. We can say, even before Descartes’ time, formulations of this proof combined two basic methods of reasoning — intuition and deduction. But, in fact, the Cartesian proof is a nod to the "intuitive" method, introduced according to the law of thought for the substance and original concepts such as "the source of the error problem.” And Descartes’ proof has unique characteristics as well. The Cartesian proof tells us that, with regard to understanding “true religion” about god, using visual or deductive means alone won’t work. To distinguish the two recognition methods, we must use intuitive-visual interpretation to deduce, and then this shows perfect unity to achieve the purpose of god. Only in this way is Descartes’ proof not " circular” — Descartes not only demonstrated that a Cartesian "god" is a bridge that crosses between the "material" and "spirit" worlds; it has no practical significance.
