In the background of the rising of computer music production courses in colleges and universities nationwide, students have urgent needs of knowledge of computer music production. But due to the students’ own economic conditions, resulting in that they can not have high-quality audio playback equipment at the beginning of learning, which makes the gap is too big compared to industrial-grade production environment, and they can not achieve the efficiency of industrial-grade environment. At the same time, due to lack of experience in their own music production work, students have urgent needs of some assistive technology to help them to better complete monitoring and debugging. This paper tries to help students, in teaching, to solve the problem by using spectral analysis and spectrum analysis software to overcome their lack of high-quality equipment and the lack of experience in music production. So that they are able to solve spectrum-related problems in computer music production process. This paper will present the basic theory of spectrum technology and operational tips of related software, and EQ debugging examples of some pop songs’ audio clips and remix works assisted by using of software-assisted analysis, to help students to understand the importance of spectrum analysis techniques in computer music production, and to enable them to learn how to use spectral analysis techniques to solve the problem of spectrum-related problems.
