Spontaneous trait inference is an important automatic social cognitive process and stereotype is a kind of viewpoint or expectation that summary and confirmed. The Dual-process models of Social cognition consider that stereotype effects individual social cognition and judgment implicitly. So we can infer the gender stereotypes are likely to influence the process of spontaneous trait inference. The foreign existing researches have preliminary discussion to the effects of stereotypes on spontaneous trait inference, especially the discussions of gender stereotype effects. But systematic researches on the effects of male stereotypes on spontaneous trait inference is still a minority. We explore the problem that whether the Chinese coedna could inference traits spontaneously by the recognition probe paradigm and the reaction times of correct rejection was used as index. The study enriches the information about spontaneous trait inferences, gender stereotype effects and affinity, and helps the man that will be or already in love draw some inspiration from the study communicate and live better. This research is divided into two parts:The first section: The experimental research of the male stereotype effects on the coedna’s spontaneous trait inference. The experiment use with-subjects experimental design. The independent variable is the type of sentence including four levels:the sentence of male stereotype-consistent、the sentence of male stereotype-inconsistent、the neuter sentence and control sentence. The dependent variable is the reaction times of correct rejection. The result shows that, the coedna of our country could make spontaneous trait inference and the male stereotype effects existed in coedna’ spontaneous trait inference. The second section: The experimental research of the husband stereotype effects on the coedna’s spontaneous trait inference. The experiment use a 2(marital status:married, unmarried) x 3(the type of sentence: stereotype-consistent, stereotype-inconsistent, the neuter sentence) mixed experimental design to explore the husband stereotype effects on the coedna’s spontaneous. The within subject variable is the type of sentence and the between subject variable is the marital status. The study proves that:the husband stereotype effects are different between single and married women significantly. The results provided evidence that husband stereotypes have no influences on single women’s spontaneous trait inference. To the married women, the husband stereotype-consistent information neither facilitated nor inhibited the generation of spontaneous trait inference when husband stereotypes were activated by a category label; the husband stereotype-inconsistent information inhibited the generation of spontaneous trait inference. In all, the conclusions are following:1. The coedna of our country could make spontaneous trait inference to the trait sentences and the male stereotype effects existed in coedna’ spontaneous trait inference.2. The husband stereotype effects existed in married women’s spontaneous trait inference, while there existed no husband stereotype effects for the unmarried women.
