A Study On The Influence Of Parent-child Interaction On The Social-emotion Of Toddlersatthe Age Of 12-24 Months

Humans have a simple primitive physiological mood, but also the emotions in social interaction. Psychologist call the latter emotion social-emotion, the Chinese scholars also call emotion-social. Parents initially evoke children’s social-emotion, and the interactive between parent and child will affect children’s cognitive development, behavior, attachment and social. This study was designed to reveal the relationship between parent-child interaction and children’s social-emotion.MethodsFirst, the number of 139 families aged 12 to 24 months in Harbin were involved by convenience cluster sampling Surveying. Then, the researcher studiedparent-child interaction by BPCIS (the Brigance Parent-Child Interactions Scale), social-emotion by ITSEA (Infant and Toddler Social-emotional assessment) which is developed by Professor Margaret J.Briggs-Gowan of Yale University and professor Alice S. Carter of Boston University. In this research, we used the Chinese version which is revised in accordance with the Chinese language and cultural characteristicsby Dr. Zhang in May 2008. Their families’background were learned by the questionnaire established byourselves. Finally, using the statistical methods analysis the above three scales together, finding out how the parent-child interaction effects social-emotion based on the result of the statistics.ConclusionsFirst, the relationship between family background and parent-child interaction1.The guiding of parent-child interaction is better in two generations family than other family structure2.
