Objectives: 1.Construet altruism questionnaire for adults with factor analysis, so as to provide aid at people for measuring and studing the level of altruism. 2. To probe into the relationship between the sense of power and altruism, so as to provide the basis to use this scale in future. Methods: 1.483 adults were selected by cluster sampling, through exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis to determined the structure dimensions of questionnaire and examined the reliability and validity.2. With the sample of 483 adults, through analysis of variance and independent sample t-test to investigated scale differences in the demographic variables. 3.Using altruism questionnaire and sense of power scale surveyed randomly 122 college students, through independent sample t-test to analysed the impact of sense of power on altruism. Results: 1. The level of altruism questionnaire composed of 15 topics, from altruistic feeling, altruistic attitude, altruistic behavior and altruistic motivation in four dimensions. 2. Item Analysis: the diffieulties of item ranged from 0.62 to 0.80, with all item discrimination were more than0.3. 3. Internal consistency reliability: Exploratory factor analysis showed that the α coefficient of the scale is 0.797 and confirmatory factor analysis showed that is 0.814.4.Construct Validity: The four factors explain the total variance more than 58% and the correlation between subscales and scale were higher than those subscales.5.The level of altruism existed significant differences at the location of the home, but in gender, age, education, and non-single child was not significant.6. The level of altruism existed significant differences between high power individuals and low power individuals. Conclusions: 1. The questionnaire has good internal consistency reliability and construct validity, achieve requirements of psychometric indicators, as the appropriate tool for measuring the altruism of adults. 2. Adults who have low power sense will be more altruistic.
