Many primary and middle school students are suffering from social anxiety. Individuals with social anxiety have a strong feeling of anxiety, tension or fear, easy to avoid social situations. Long-term so, there is a negative impact on the development of individual socialization.Children aged 11 to 15 are in the stage of transition from family to society, family environment and their interpretation of the environment are considered as the important factors of social anxiety in this stage. But the existing studies have not distinguished the different effects of the father’s and mother’s parenting style on children’s social anxiety. Several related research shows that the social anxiety individuals have different interpretation bias characteristics. However,there is a controversy about whether the positive interpretation bias or the negative interpretation bias causes children’s social anxiety.And interpretation bias is measured in a off-line way. It is not clear that the relationship between in-line interpretation bias and the social anxiety of children.So, this article explored the relationship between parental style, interpretation bias and social anxiety in children aged 11 to 15, as well as the mechanism of the interaction between parenting style and interpretation bias provide some theoretical basis and strategies for the clinical intervention of social anxiety for children.In this study, a cross-sectional study design was used to select 659 students from Grade 5 to grade 8 in Hangzhou as the research object, using the Social Anxiety Scale for Children(SASC),the Rearing Behavior Questionnaire(RBQ), the Interpretation Questionnaire(IQ), and the Word Sentence Association Paradigm(WSAP). The results showed that:(1) the social anxiety of children aged 11 to 15 were higher than that of urban children in 2006, and the social anxiety of girls is higher than boys.(2) Father and mother parenting styles are different: mother is more acceptive and over control than father, father of the boy refused to higher than the mother, to boys, father refused higher than mother; to girls, mother refused to higher than father.(3)Parental style can predict the social anxiety of children aged 11 to 15, and the influence of the mother is bigger than the father.(4) Positive off-line interpretation bias can predict social anxiety of grade 5 and grade 6, and negative off-line interpretation bias can predict the social anxiety ofjunior high school students in Grade 7 and grade 8, negative in-line interpretation bias can predict the social anxiety of grade 5 and grade 6.(5) Negative off-line interpretation bias in the parents’ rejection, over control and children’s social anxiety plays a partial intermediary role.
