The Expression Of Political Ethics In Officialdom Novels At The End Of Twentieth Century To Early Twenty-first Century

At the end of twentieth Century to early twenty-first Century, the officialdom novels aiming to describe the political ecology, fighting against corruption and official ups and downs, are highly prosperous in our Chinese society. Literary works of this kind profoundly reflected social reality, powerfully criticized the political and moral alienation of social phenomenon. Because they attract many readers, and have a large amount of sales, this has been a culture phenomenon which drew much attention from all circles of society.This paper selects the ethical and political writing as a cross disciplinary perspective, and discusses the writing of the most representative six writers of political ethics of officialdom novels, such as Lu Tianming, Zhou Meisen, Wang Yuewen, Wang Xiaofang, Yan Zhen, Zhang Ping, uses the comprehensive knowledge of literary history and literary theory, political ethics and cultural studies and other research methods, to study the political ethics of writing in the aspects of official discourse form and folk discourse form, and the aesthetic significance of the age,society and culture. At the same time, this paper analyses the limitations from the levels of art and ideology.This thesis consists of six parts:The introduction part mainly defines the two concepts--the officialdom novels and the connotation of political ethics. On the basis of current researches, to define the basic connotation of officialdom novels and the boundary of time-at the turn of the century, that is from the middle-late 90s of the 20th century to 21 th century. Through the brief introduction of concepts of the ethics and political ethics, especially the political ethics advocated by the CPC to define the range of political ethics writings.In addition, it also briefly introduces the research status and research values of this thesis.Chapter1 At the turn of the century, the officialdom novels are prosperous. It explains reasons for their prosperity from aspects of the motive forces of time,culture,creation,and consumption. According to the classification of this kind of novel,which is accepted by the current academic circle and most of the readers, it classifies objects of study into two categories:"the main theme", and "original ecology", and briefly introduces the characteristics of writing of the two types, so as to define a basic outline for objects of the study.Chapter2 To advocate the main theme:the official discourse form of political ethics writing, it mainly discusses the three elements of the official discourse form of political ethics:reform and development, the quality of cadres and the people’s interest,and studies how they perform in officialdom novels.Chapter3 To return to the original ecology:the folk discourse form of political ethics writing. This paper mainly discusses how the Chinese traditional political ethics affects the political ethics value of the class of literati and officialdom on"Sageliness Within and Kingliness Without" and "Exaltation of the Virtuous"and its performance performance in the officialdom novels.Chapter4 The meaning and reflection of Political ethics writing. It mainly summarizes the aesthetic significance of age,society and literature of political ethics of writing.On one hand, it introduces their social functional meaning of them to expose the malpractice, and to reflect on humanism, on the other hand, it summarizes the cultural aesthetic meaning of them about the inheritance and innovation of the tradition of realistic criticism,as well as their cultural interpretation on politics, humanity, and morality.And analysis its limitations from two aspects of the ideology and art.In the conclusion part, it sums up all of the arguments of the full paper,and clarifies the conclusion.
