A Study On The Current Status Of Huhhot Mongols’ Religious Belief

Religious belief verifies with the development of society. Mongolian history is inextricably tied to religion. This paper, taking Hohhot as an example, conducted a survey on the current status of the religious belief of the Mongolia people. And then the author gave further analysis and discussion.Firstly, this paper briefly described the history of Mongolian people’s Religious belief, which covers Buddhism, Shamanism, Christianity, during the end of the Ming Dynasty to the Republic of China, based on literature documents. And the author analyzed its historical origin and influence. Secondly, the author analyzed the current situation of Hohhot Mongols’religious belief, according to the questionnaire result. The result shows that, the Mongolian people in this region mainly believe Buddhism, Shamanism, and Christianity. Wherein, the Buddhist held the largest proportion. The tradition of the family was the motivation of a religious belief. The proportion of the Christian is on the rise. And religions belief has an effect on psychological adjustment. Nowadays the religious teachings and the religious activities takes on a trend of secularization. At the end of the paper, based on those conclusions, the author discussed the contemporary influence of the Hohhot Mongols’religious belief, from traditional culture, psychological adjustment and establishment of a harmonious Hohhot, three aspects.
